On the night of the 23rd, we had Christmas at home; mom, dad and Maddox. Maddox did a good job of unwrapping his presents, he just took his time.
After all of the presents were opened, Maddox decided it was time to clean up and put all of the trash in a pile on the kitchen floor.
Maddox did a great job all of December not touching the tree or the other decorations. Then, for some reason, after all the presents were opened, he went crawling under the tree. Neither of us knew why.
Then he emerged with the basketball he had thrown under the tree weeks earlier. He was so happy to have it back.
On the morning of the 24th, we headed to the lake ahead of the snow. Jennifer got to spend some time with her friends, Brandi, Sarah and Nicki.

That evening we went to Christmas Eve candle light service. Maddox behaved bad enough to earn a lump of coal in his stocking.
Speaking of stockings, the next morning we got up to find that Santa had come. Maddox let dad know that it was time to open the stockings.
Mom held the stocking so Maddox could dig deep, they seemed to be his favorite part.
After everyone got to Papi and Grammy's, we started opening presents .
Maddox got a bunch of great things, but his favorite was Lightning McQueen.
Naptime came pretty early in the morning, although he tried his best to fight it on Papi's lap.
After a quick power nap, it was back to opening the presents. Dad helped a little.
So did Grammy
Is there anything else?
After a hectic morning, Maddox chilled on the couch with Paul and read a book.
The next day, more refreshed, Maddox played a super fun game of peek-a-boo.
The day after Christmas, we headed back to KC. That evening, we went to Aunt Erin's for Christmas with her, Uncle Ben and Gran. Grumpa couldn't make it to Kansas because he is afraid of snow. Maddox didn't want anyone else playing with his presents so he took off with them as soon as he could.

On Monday, mom and dad took off work to recover and take down Christmas decorations. Dad also decided it was time to cut Maddox' hair. It didn't go as smoothly as hoped.
It all ended well, as Maddox was able to show his new haircut off as he cruised the hallway.
