Memorial Weekend 2015

Memorial Weekend= the unofficial start to summer.
Except, not this year. It was rainy and a little cold. Certainly not warm enough to enjoy the newly opened swimming pool. BOOOOOO! But, we made the most of it and had fun celebrating the end of a great school year.

We started out Friday evening telling Grammy goodbye. She was here to hang out with Maddox for a few days before his summer camp started.

We dedicated the weekend to the kids. Since they both had a great school year academically and with no behavior issues, we needed to celebrate. They each got to pick a place to eat. Eating out is their love language which worked out that weekend because I was on a cooking vacation too!

Maddox picked Cracker Barrel. Pancakes were calling his name. Who can blame him?! They are delicious. After dinner, we rocked like old people and played checkers.

Sage was feeling a little left out since Maddox had been hanging with Grammy so on Saturday I treated her to a pedicure. She, of course, loved it!

She asked me to take these next two pictures. She's very proud of those flowers.

Sage's special dinner request was Red Robin. I'm not sure what the draw is to Red Robin but both Maddox and Sage love it.

A little clothes coordinating for church makes my mama heart happy.

At this point we really needed to build an ark because of all the rain. We were dying to go swimming so we found our way to the indoor pool at the Y. Not the summer fun we were hoping for, but it was still fun.

At the Y you have to pass a swim test or you have to be at least an arms length away from an adult at all times. The test includes swimming across the lap pool without touching the sides. Maddox was nervous but he passed with flying colors. He was so proud and so were we. He's showing off that green arm band.

This girl is all over the place.

Let's hear it for the red, white and blue- and the sunshine!

Happy Memorial Day!
