Opal Miriam Young Ferrell (Mimi) is 90!
For months, Grammy and Aunt Lynn planned a surprise 90th birthday party for Mimi. All her people were coming together to celebrate her! All of her remaining siblings, nieces, nephews, kids, grandkids, great grandkids and many life long friends came from all over the country. She's one special lady and she deserves to be celebrated BIG!
She knew we were passing through town after our vacation so we stopped by on Friday for an extra little visit. We told her we were staying for lunch the next day. Little did she know a big lunch was waiting for her.
This magnolia painting used to belong to Mimi and now it's mine! It holds special memories from my childhood. Everyone thinks it's terrible EXCEPT my main girl! She loves it too! I can't wait to get it hung up!
We ended the night with our favorite Mexican restaurant, sopapillas and our favorite Donal cousin.
And a little swimming!
Saturday, lunch was set up at the church for immediate family and friends would join later for cake and tea.
Grammy and Auntie Lynn did a great job!
Poor baby Co was sick.

There wasn't a big SURPRISE moment but she was surprised to see Ever standing outside waiting for her.

Mimi is a writer. She writes poems and songs about her love for Jesus and His love for us. Her children surprised her with a published a book of all her poems. We were all lucky enough to get a signed copy! My Mimi, a published author at 90 years old!
