Maddox had a little procedure done last week and he was SO brave! We got to Children's Mercy at 7 am for the 8 am surgery. They got us right in and went over everything that would happen that day. Maddox had a great time playing and wasn't nervous about a thing.
The nurses wheeled him back for the surgery and he just waved goodbye. No tears for him meant no tears for the parents! Yay! The doctor came out after an hour and said the surgery was over and he did great. He said Maddox would be in recovery for 45 minutes and they would come get us but after 15 minutes they were ready for us to come back. Maddox was happy to see us and so excited to eat. He started out with 3 bags of goldfish.
We were in recovery for about 30 minutes and we were headed home. Sean thought he would just want to be carried out to the car but he was so wrong. Maddox requested the wagon and enjoyed the ride.
Maddox's one request was for the day was a smoothie and a cheeseburger. We got the smoothie on the way home and picked up the cheeseburger later for lunch. He was a happy camper!
Maddox had some very special treats waiting at home from Gran and GP. Aunt Erin, Uncle Ben and Eli came over to love on the very brave young boy. Elliott and the Schoonovers joined us for dinner and to wish Maddox well. Grammy, Papi and Aunt Dawny came up to spend the day with us. He is so loved and BRAVE!!
